The Tree In My Dreams

The Tree In My Dreams
The Tree In My Dreams - this image might hurt your eyes, click on it to view a bigger size.

This picture isn't exactly that of the tree in my dreams but it does come close. This picture was taken around 2:30 pm a couple of days ago. It was just after it had stopped raining. Mr A, Ms S and I were headed towards a certain cafe/restaurant where we regularly hang out. To get to that place we have to cross a railway crossing. Now, what happened was that the train stopped halfway through the crossing. Now, as we were on a rickshaw we were totally stuck. I got down and this tree really intrigued me. So, I whipped out my phone and took a couple of pictures.

The best one was later turned into an HDR photograph and then it was treated to some Photoshop. What you see is the final result. You can actually see a part of the train reflected in the puddle and a part of it in the background. Now, continuing the story, we were getting late. So, Mr A and I had this idea. We climbed through the train, which was effectively dead for all means and purposes, and jumped to the other side. The best part was that as soon as we had crossed through the train, it started moving again. We made it in time to meet another one of our friends, Mr AS.

UPDATE - This photo of mine got featured on A Photo A Day From Planet Earth! YAY!

Never bothered to find out. Maybe I'll go and check it out sometime later.
Very cool tree. I could see laying under it and dreaming peacefully, without the water under it of course.

I'm glad you found my photo interesting.
Hey, I was just reviewing your blog on IndiBlogger - This shot is with a camera phone?! I guess it's time to sell my SLR. :-(

Nice HDR work. What software did you use for the conversion?

Hi Renie. Yes, the base shot was with my Nokia 6233. I used Photomatix Pro vr. 3 to turn it into HDR and then used Photoshop to give it a bright, surreal and dreamy feel.
Well, nice job dude! And I've always been sceptical of camera phones till I saw your blog. Nokia should pay you. :-)
Wow this is one amazing pic! So dreamy and magical!
You definitely got a great shot here.

Thank you Evita.
it does look enchanting. But whenever I see such well-grown trees, I remember indian horror flicks where always a poor tree is involved. Just because zombies tie a swing to it. Or because a certain faceless woman clad in a white-saree lives in there.

Horror flicks ... Seriously horror flicks. Wow! faceless woman, white saree. You've opened the cork in your head, haven't you?

About This Blog

I had been wanting to start a photolog for quite some time, but I guess couldn't find the time or probably a decent camera. But then in August, 2008 I bought a 2 MP, Nokia 6233.

It was an all-in-one phone and the camera wasn't that bad. So then I went on a picture taking spree and finally decided to make this blog! The years went by and the Nokia 6233 became obsolete. Then I had the bright idea of buying a Nokia Asha 302. It had a 3.2 MP camera which I shall now pit against the almighty 6233.
